Race Details Dashboard
Overview
The Race Details dashboard is where you configure the core settings for your virtual race — the name, description, dates, distance, and registration fee. Changes made here take effect immediately on the live race page.
Accessing the Dashboard
From your race's dashboard hub, click Race details management in the sidebar under SETUP.
Race Name & Description
Edit your race title and description text. The race name appears in the browser tab, email subject lines, and leaderboard headers. Keep it concise and descriptive.
Start & End Dates
Set the race's start date from this dashboard. To change the race's end date or duration, contact team@racery.com. Common durations:
| Duration | Best For |
|---|---|
| 1 day | Virtual 5K events and single-day challenges |
| 1–2 weeks | Quick team sprints and short campaigns |
| 4–6 weeks | Standard wellness challenges (most common) |
| 8+ weeks | Year-round wellness programs and ongoing challenges |
Tip: Racery sends participants an automatic email two days before the race starts. Changing the start date updates this notification timing.
Distance & Goals
Configure the total route distance for your race. The distance determines how far racers (or teams) need to go to "finish" the route.
- Shorter routes (5K–26.2 miles) work well for individual competitions
- Longer routes (100–15,000 miles) suit team relays where members accumulate miles together
- For team relays, a good formula:
2.5 miles × team size × days
Registration Fee
Set the entry fee racers pay to join. You can set the fee to $0 for free races or use coupon codes for selective discounts.
Racery uses Stripe for payment processing. Entry fees flow to your connected Stripe account minus Stripe's processing fee (2.9% + $0.30). See Stripe Connect for setup details.
About Tab Editor
The About tab is the first thing racers see on your race page. Use the editor to add text and images that explain the race's purpose, rules, and story. This content appears on the race's main page under the "About" tab.
